It might be a Mormon cricket (Anabrus simplex). The “Field Guide to Grasshoppers, Katydids, and Crickets of the United States” by Capinera, Scott and Walker says, “Individuals that travel in bands are generally black or dark brown, whereas solitary ones are green.” Where did you collect it?
It was from near Pine Butte, just west of Choteau, Montana.
