Son of a gun! I just noticed that I didn’t include a sense of scale here – that’s because it was up above, and unsafe to reach. The length of the short limb of the fold (width of the kink band) is between 2 and 4 inches.
I think I’ve been here … is this on a roadcut in the Franklin Mts just above El Paso?
Yes indeed. On the east side of the range, exposed on the north side of the road.
