Spectacular outcrop. Are these associated with evaporites also? Being playa deposits, I would have expected some gypsum or salt beds associated with it.
These limestones are evaporites – there are other evaporites in this formation, but this photo was taken in a sequence of carbonates at least 60 m thick.
