Looking at Ordovician carbonates in Germany Valley, West Virginia, a few weeks ago on Rick Diecchio’s GMU sedimentology and stratigraphy course field trip:
Lots and lots of brachiopods…
Crinoid columnals mized with brachiopods:
A set of coarsely-infilled trace fossils:
Crinoid stem:
Nice strophomenid brachiopod:
Bryozoan? Receptaculid?
I found a clump of the same shell fossils in southern Ontario. They worth anything?
Probably not cash-wise, but they’d be a useful donation to a local school’s science program, I’d bet.
I think this is it, but if not exactly, then it’s certainly close to this.
Follow-up: Yes, Street View definitely shows that to be the one.
