North of Fort Frances, Ontario, October 7, 2011. Centimeter-demarcated pencil for scale.
The granitoid vein intrudes metasedimentary rocks of the Archean-aged Quetico Group, exposed on the Superior Craton. Note the thickened hinges, the boudinage of the lower right long limb, and incipient boudinage of the upper left long limb.
Looks a bit like a rattlesnake, with the lower right boudinage as the rattle, no?
I like the way you think! 🙂
Where did you get that pencil?!
It was a freebie from Little River Research and Design, of Carbondale, Illinois.
That’s near my home! 🙂
